PURPLE FOAM is a garage band from Schwerin and Rostock with strong influences from new wave punk. Since their formation in 2012 they are looking for a fast and dirty sound. Comparable to La femme or Frustration, they developed a symbiosis of synth and guitar, in memory of legendary 1970s bands like Joy Division, The Kids or Angry Samoans. Their style, which they call “pleasurepunk”, combines different, almost paradoxical elements in a spectrum between fragile delicate and martial stomping.
